C.O.B.R.A - City of Bristol Rising Artists
The third COBRA enrichment programme was run at Dockside studios in Bristol and proved to be a great success.
A varied and interesting assortment of styles and collaborations have emerged from these recording sessions and the final CD showcases these original songs and the groups efforts. COBRA band The CLICKS performed alongside ERA bands at Phoenixsounds showcase in november.
The COBRA Project DVD and CD 2005-2007 are the result of two year’s worth of work with a group of young people from the City of Bristol. The project brings together City of Bristol college students and unemployed young people with a group of industry professionals from music entertainment, recording and video editing in order to enrich the educational environment and to bring about more positive attitudes to personal development and attainment. The work is non judgemental - the results speak for themselves. The Cobra project was funded by the City of Bristol College and directed by Sound Gallery. Supported by the Dockside Studios in Bristol, the EXeter Television Company, and many others who gave time and professional advice. The resulting CD and DVD are intended to give a taste of what can be achieved with limited resources and low budgets. The artwork, video footage and music were created by the students.
