Aims
To introduce students to computer music concepts.
To enable students to create and produce music on a computer.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course students will:
Be familiar with the key features of modern DAW software, using Garageband, Logic Pro and Reason
Understand the principles of sequencing and pattern editing
Understand how to record, import, edit, manipulate and export audio
Understand how to record, sequence and edit MIDI
Be introduced to the basic practices of sampling and synthesis
Be able to create and manipulate loops and samples
Be introduced to the concepts of music arranging and mixing
Use this knowledge to create their own work.

Concessionary places are limited. Concessionary rates, are available for benefit recipients, full-time
students or over 60's (where parent or guardian is paying). We regret that we are unable to refund any
money once a course has started. Courses may be cancelled or postponed due to inadequate number
of participants. We will let you know whether this is the case at the earliest opportunity.

Since May 2008, we have been running a professional recording and music production studio in the basement complex at Exeter Phoenix. Sound Gallery Studios include a recording studio, live room, amp room and two rehearsal rooms. We also offer a wider range of music workshops, music technology courses, music industry networking events and live music showcases.
