YOUTH PROJECTS 2008-2011
Breakthrough Music Project
In August 2010, Sound Gallery's young group of volunteers were successful in securing funding from YOF and Vcashpoint to run a talent competition for young singer-songwriters and bands under 19 years old. Fifteen acts applied and auditioned in front of a panel of judges and the 4 winning acts recorded a track at Sound Gallery Studios. The project came to an end with a live music showcase on Saturday 16th July 2011 in the Voodoo Lounge at Exeter Phoenix. The show featured the 4 winners of the competition: Alex Gregory, Sam Mortimer, Aidan Simpson and George & the Islanders. Free CDs were given out to all those who attended. Well done to everyone involved and hopefully, there will be more competitions and performing opportunities for young musicians in the near future!

Sound Gallery Youth Volunteering Project (April 2008-April 2011)
Sound Gallery CIC is one of 152 organisations across the country that were funded to help deliver Vinvolved, a national volunteering programme which aimed to inspire half a million more young people aged 16-25 years to volunteer in England. Over the period of 3 years we recruited over 90 young volunteers who took part in developing our organisation as well as their own skills in the music industry from running the studio on a daily basis to developing their own projects. According to the Exeter Volunteer Centre, our volunteering opportunities provoked the biggest response they had seen for five years! This programme has now come to an end.
