SOUND GALLERY STUDIOS: a professional recording studio run by a social enterprise (Sound Gallery CIC) which offers a wide range of facilities to musicians, including audio digital and analogue recording facilities, rehearsal space, music technology courses, workshops, masterclasses and music industry events situated in Exeter Phoenix. Sound Gallery also hosts and organises the 'Analogue to Digital Music Expo'.
MUSICIANS UNION: a globally-respected organisation which represents over 30,000 musicians working in all sectors of the music business. Paul Gray, regional officer will be hosting a session on everything you wanted to know about gigging, royalties, contracts, studio agreements, music publishing and more ... hungersleep records: indie record label and music production company founded in 2010, operating in the genres of Art Rock, Experimental and Alternative Rock. Home to GRICE and hungersleep, recent releases include the album 'Propeller' by GRICE (shortlisted in the MPG Awards, Album of the year category), the re-creation of 'Love Theme' (from the iconic film BLADE RUNNER, featuring Raphael Ravenscroft on sax) and the 'Highly Strung' remix (from Propeller) by Richard Barbieri (Porcupine Tree, Japan).
Integrity records: An independent record label founded in 1994 specialising in the indie, rock, punk, alternative genres. Previous releases include Miss Black America, Reuben, Kat Bjelland (of Babes in Toyland) and the Frank Turner fronted Million Dead. Current home to Valentiine, Miniature Dinosaurs, Futur Primitif (ex-Low Anthem), theLights, Travis+Julie, Pet Dog Storm and Plutonik.
ALPHASPHERE: a new electronic musical instrument and controller which reinterprets the way we interact with sound. Its distinct design is made up of 48 pressure sensitive pads which form a modular spherical structure. Sound is triggered when you tap the pad, apply more pressure and you can start to mould and manipulate the sound further. Apply parameters to the pad-depth such as MIDI CC data, aftertouch, and pitch-bend to make your music truly expressive.
TIME + SPACE: a place where recording artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, DJs and recording studios can find all the sound material they need to create demos, records, remixes, commercials, jingles and soundtracks. They will be showcasing Rop Papen's virtual synths (Predator, Blade), iZotope mastering tools and Songwriting made EZ with Toontrack in Studio 2 at Sound Gallery Studios in Zone 4 (basement floor).
TWIDDLE.IT: a social networking site for musicians created by musicians.
EXETER LOCAL RECORDS: Exeter Local Records is a new pop-up record shop specialising in selling CDs and Merch from local artists and bands. By buying music from them you are helping to support local musicians.

Black Box - TIME: 11:15-12:00PROPELLERHEAD: showing Reason 7, a music software program which emulates a rack of hardware synthesizers, samplers, signal processors, sequencers and mixers. Masterclass demonstrating Reason 7 with mixing engineer with Mattias Haggstrom-Gerde from Propellerheads in Sweden who will concentrate on new features in Reason 7 and Synthesis.

VINTAGE ANALOGUE SYNTH masterclass with RICHARD BARBIERI (Porcupine Tree, Japan)
Representing the true "analogue" side of A2D, Richard will be demonstrating how these vintage synths work and more importantly how they sound. He'll be bringing along his three favourite gems from his collection - The Roland System 700 Lab Series semi modular, a Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 polysynth and a Micromoog mono synth. These all manufactured between 1975 -1984. Richard will be talking about his approach to synthesis, taking questions and inviting people to try out these rarities.

QUESTED MONITORING SYSTEMS: design and manufacture the world's most neutral loudspeakers for recording studios and engineers worldwide. SUPER AUDIO MASTERING: (SAM) is a state-of-the-art Mastering facility owned and run by Simon Heyworth who is mastering projects both in Stereo and 5.1 Surround for CD, DVD (DTS/Dolby Digital), Blu-ray & SACD. Simon established his reputation in recording at Virgin’s Manor Studios, most notably as co-producer of Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells. Established in 2002, SAM have an impressive client list including Depeche Mode, Imogen Heap, Simple Minds, George Harrison, Nick Drake, King Crimson to mention a few. - Surround Sound demo

ABLETON LIVE: Come and see the much anticipated Ableton Push and Ableton Live 9 demonstrated by renowned Ableton Certified Trainer Martin Delaney. Martin has been using and teaching Live since version 1. He wrote the Ableton Live Tips & Tricks books for PC Publishing, produces Ableton Live 9 training movies for Elephorm, and writes the monthly Live tutorials for Future Music. He also designed the acclaimed Kenton Killamix Mini USB MIDI controller.
Push has quickly become one of 2013's most sought after pieces of gear. Ableton's new hardware instrument sold out within days of release and if you want to find out why then get yourself along to the "Push Playground" at this years A2D. Ableton will be hosting a dedicated room in Zone 2 where you can get hands-on with Push in the company of two of the UK's finest Ableton Certified Trainers. Adrian Pickard and Martin Delaney will have a total of 5 Push units on hand (quite possibly the largest number ever assembled in the UK!) and will guide you through creating beats, chords and melodies using this remarkable new instrument. Want to see, hear and play the Novation Bass Station II before it's release this summer? As part of Novations’ UK Summer’s Tour 2013, Chris Dominey will be presenting Bass Station II, Launchpad S & Launchkey. The Novation Bass Station II is an analogue mono-synth based on the classic original Bass Station but re-worked for the 21st century. It has two filters, two oscillators plus a third sub-oscillator, patch save and a fully analogue effects section. Add a step sequencer, arpeggiator, full sized keys and a powerful modulation section and you have the makings of a synth that is built for bass, but capable of so much more.

The Exeter centre has been fitted out with a Pro Tools 24 channel digital recording studio that is both practical for teaching purposes and available commercially for really affordable recording sessions. Mixing and Mastering with iZotope software - Time: 12:15-13:00 & 15:15-16:00: Time+Space Product Specialist Martin Cranfield takes an in depth look at how to get your mixes sounding fresh and polished with iZotope's innovative range of music production tools.

VIRTUAL VINCENZO: Sound Gallery's digital reconstruction of the 1782 harpsichord built by Vincenzo Sodi in Florence. Play the keyboard and hear the voice of this unique instrument which is currently displayed at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter, just across the road from Exeter Phoenix!
