Yamaha and Steinberg, a unique creative combination, take centre stage at the Producer Zone at A2D. International product specialist and internet sensation Bert Smorenburg will be showcasing the very latest gear in his uniquely entertaining and informative style. Steinberg technical guru Andrew Schravemade be conducting masterclasses and guiding guests through the process of getting top results from the software with the minimum of technical ‘clutter’.

 

ABLETON LIVE: demonstration of Ableton Push and Live, hardware and software for music production, creation and performance, by Martin Delaney.

 

NATIVE INSTRUMENTS: leading manufacturer of software and hardware for computer-based audio production for producers, guitarists, sound designers and DJs. General NI manager Stephen Parker, product specialist Owain Wilson and Joe Joyce will be showcasing Maschine Studio, Traktor Kontrol S4 Mk2, Traktor Kontrol Z1, Traktor DJ.

Bitwig have teamed up with integration gurus Nektar Technology to provide a mouth-watering software/hardware solution to modern day music production and live performance.

 

QUESTED MONITORING SYSTEMSdesign and manufacture the world’s most neutral loudspeakers for recording studios and engineers worldwide. Their world includes Abbey Road, Gladiator, Florence & The Machine and they are kindly supplying much of the monitoring for the A2D show. Other services include custom installation and post-production & cinema.

 

TIME+SPACE: a place where recording artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, DJs and recording studios can find all the sound material they need to create demos, records, remixes, commercials, jingles and soundtracks. Time+Space: showcasing the latest music production products form the likes of Toontrack, iZotope, Rob Papen, Synthogy, Spectrasonics and more.

SOUND GALLERY STUDIOSrecording studio run by social enterprise Sound Gallery CIC which offers a wide range of facilities to musicians, including audio digital and analogue recording facilities, rehearsal space, music technology courses, workshops, masterclasses and music industry events situated in Exeter Phoenix. 

SUPER AUDIO MASTERING: (SAM) is a state-of-the-art Mastering facility owned and run by Simon Heyworth who is mastering projects both in Stereo and 5.1 Surround for CD, DVD (DTS/Dolby Digital), Blu-ray & SACD. Simon established his reputation in recording at Virgin’s Manor Studios, most notably as co-producer of Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells. Established in 2002, SAM have an impressive client list including Depeche Mode, Imogen Heap, Simple Minds, George Harrison, Nick Drake, King Crimson to mention a few. Simon will be accompanied by mastering engineer Andy Miles.

SONTRONICS: British designed mics & preamps that combine professional sound and build quality with total affordability. The stall will be manned by the head of AV at the Institute of Architects and secretary to the British Sound Recordists’ Association, Steve Barrett-White. Demonstration of the new Sontronics ARIA valve condenser microphone with a fixed cardioid pattern, designed by Sontronics founder Trevor Coley specifically for getting the best from your vocals.

hungersleep records: indie record label and music production company founded in 2010, operating in the genres of Art Rock, Experimental and Alternative Rock. Home to GRICE and Siobhan McCrudden. Releases include the album ‘Propeller’ by GRICE (shortlisted in the MPG Awards, Album of the year category), the re-creation of ‘Love Theme’ (from the iconic film BLADE RUNNER, featuring Raphael Ravenscroft on sax) and the ‘Highly Strung’ remix (from Propeller) by Richard Barbieri (Porcupine Tree, Japan). 

Orchid ElectronicsLong established, Exeter-based company, specialising in products and services for the professional audio industry, including acoustic Pre-Amp custom built for Steve Knightley and Phil Beer of Show of Hands, Seth Lakeman and many other musicians. 

Integrity records: An independent record label founded in 1994 specialising in the indie, rock, punk, alternative genres. Previous releases include Miss Black America, Reuben, Kat Bjelland (of Babes in Toyland) and the Frank Turner fronted Million Dead. Current home to Valentiine, Miniature Dinosaurs, Futur Primitif (ex-Low Anthem), theLights, Travis+Julie, Pet Dog Storm and Plutonik. 

dBs Music: Educational establishment offering BTEC diplomas and degree level courses in Music Technology, Music Production, DJ, Live Sound and Music Performance in cutting edge facilities.

Academy of Music & Sound:  The Academy of Music and Sound started life in Exeter in 2005, taking over legendary guitar shop Mansons premises. Moving on in 2010 to the current site which now offers a recording studio, drum studio, practise rooms, Mac suite, lecture rooms and student areas.
