Exeter’s Vibraphonic festival 2009 finished on a high note with Devon’s first ever Music Expo organised by
Sound Gallery. A day of ‘hands-on’ demonstrations, master-classes, workshops, Q&As and live performances
all under one roof, plus a prize draw with up to £5,000 of music software and hardware up for grabs!
£5,000 worth of music software and hardware, A to D is set to become an annual event.
Sound Gallery has established national and international links with the music industry in London and
abroad and has made this an annual event that will put Exeter on the map as a leading host for music
technology and innovation. This event gave the opportunity to everyone involved in music-making in the
South West to come and try out all the latest music technology.
This was also the first time anyone in the UK had the opportunity to try equipment that was showcased
at the NAMM show in the US in January 2009 which only allows access to traders and not the general public.

Time+Space presented demonstrations of Spectrasonics´ massively successful Omnisphere power synth and will also be joined by top Producer/DJ and Sample Magic co-founder Sharooz Raoofi. With hugely popular sample libraries such as Nu-Rave and Minimal & Tech House under their belt, Sharooz shared the secrets of all aspects of Sample Magic´s sample production as well as demonstrated how to use the samples to make a bangin´ tune of your own!
Yamaha Music Production were in attendance with product demonstrators on hand to get you making music with TENORI-ON – the multi-award winning new instrument that uniquely marries music and art inspiring new directions, new music and new genres.
M-Audio was there to demo Digidesign’s Pro Tools 8, along with a number of M-Audio’s award-winning USB Midi keyboards and pro studio monitor ranges, along with Axiom Pro keyboard – our most advanced midi controller yet with built-in control for Pro Tools, Logic, Reason, Cubase and many other plugins and software applications.
IK Multimedia hosted a room on the day and as part of their presentation to the public invited producer Ben Fenner to come and run some masterclasses in T-Racks 3 production software. Ben’s many credits include engineering / producing with the likes of Radiohead, Brian Eno and the Feeling.
They also demonstrated the fabulous AmpliTube® Fender® official guitar/bass Amp and FX software suite. Made by IK Multimedia in cooperation with legendary music icon Fender® Musical Instruments Corporation.
