Dedicated to sax legend Raphael Ravenscroft (Baker Street, Pink Floyd/final Cut) who worked out of Sound Gallery Studios whilst residing in Exeter, Studio 1 offers a range of integrated recording solutions, based around an Apple Mac Pro, Pro Tools and Logic Pro systems.

Mac based Pro Tools and Logic Pro with pristine high end AD/DA conversion and clocking from the SSL (Solid State Logic) Alphalink and Prism Sound Orpheus.

Separate fully treated Live room, Vocal booth, Amp Room and Control room featuring acoustic design by the legendary Roger Quested (renowned for designing innovative studio monitors and for working with Pink Floyd, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin & more).

Designed by acoustician Max Hodges (Sound On Sound), the recording studio is equipped with a range of classic studio mics, valve amps, Gretsch and Ludwig drum kits and a ton of outboard synths and plug-ins from the likes of SSL, Focusrite, TC Electronic, Lexicon, TLA, Yamaha, TFPro, EMU and Line 6.

Air-conditioned, fully ventilated and acoustically treated with high-end acoustic Absorbing & BAD (Binary Amplitude Diffsorborâ„¢) panels and Diffusor panels designed and manufactured by RPG.

The space has a unique, bespoke (LED lit) suspended cloud to provide absorption when recording full drum kits and other instruments. Now equipped with a Genelec monitoring system, Studio 1 is also a control room quality listening environment.

Studio 1 is connected to Studio 2 and the Control room via an AVB network which provides great flexibility, enhancing the recording capability and enabling larger groups to multi-track and record live.

Studio 1 is also linked to community radio station Phonic FM (right next door to us), which enables us to run Maida Vale-style live sessions on-air as well as pre-recorded sessions for bands and solo artists.
