one thousand birds symphony

An audio-visual immersive experience and exhibition in surround sound/Dolby Atmos presenting award winning music score ‘one thousand birds symphony’ by art rock artist/producer GRICE. This new commission will feature for the first time the full music score, new digital artwork and projections created by the artist, presented at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum RAMM in Exeter (WILD season) (daytime free event) followed by an evening live performance feat. GRICE & special guests. The event will also take place at Super Audio Mastering & Gallery, Chagford, Devon as a playback event and art exhibition.

’one thousand birds symphony’ is a majestic collection of symphonic compositions and arrangements incorporating original field recordings of exquisite dawn choruses and digitally manipulated birdsong accompanied by an iridescent cast of high profile musicians who join the sonic murmuration. Taster Trailer

‘one thousand birds symphony’ short film was originally created between March and December 2020 deep in ‘The Shire’, when the artist developed a personal connection with robins and blackbirds in his garden during lockdown, a time of disintegration and emotional derailment where human activity was for the most part suspended leaving a deafening silence.

Previously supported by the ERF fund, the short film was premiered in 2022 during mental health awareness week at a sold out event in solar powered cinema Studio 74 in Exeter and since then it has won many awards: Best Music Feature (Mykonos International Film Awards, Greece) – Best Arthouse Short Film (Sipontum Arthouse International Film Festival, Italy) – Best Original Music Score (Cine Paris Film Festival, France) – Special Mention (United Kingdom Music Video Festival).
